Suggestions for Successful Steamboat Stay
by Ingrid Holmes
Please register with the hotel before you park because you need your room key to access
the free underground parking garage.
It is always a good idea to bring a copy of your employer’s federal tax-exempt form
for the hotels registration clerks so you wont be charged any tax.
There is a mandatory resort fee added to your bill that covers many amenities such
as access to the pool, hot tubs, workout room, and a daily newspaper and Starbucks
coffee in your room. For those of you addicted to Starbucks, the hotel has its own
Starbucks restaurant.
The Sheraton is a smoke-free facility, but every sleeping room has a balcony. The
hotel allows dogs but discriminates against cats. The beds are state of the art and
highly upgraded. All sleeping rooms have coffee makers, hairdryers and refrigerators.
Feel free to bring snacks and beverages if you prefer to eat in your room for the
meals not provided in your registration fee. If you prefer to eat out, there are several
restaurants in the hotel and adjoining Gondola Square. Free transportation is provided
to down town Steamboat Springs.
Your Board of directors is providing beverages and food for the morning half-hour
breaks and beverages only for the afternoon breaks.
Once you arrive, any board member can answer your questions or direct you to someone
who can. The hotel staff has been very accommodating and it has been a pleasure negotiating
the contract for our 30th Conference.
