Board Member Nominations ... Are you up for the Challenge?!

“My grandfather once told me that there were two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was much less competition. “

Who are we looking for?

We are recruiting for the CFSC Board of Directors.  We are looking for people who operate effectively in a group setting, provide synergy for the rest of the team, and keep in mind the broader interests of the Membership.

Our Board of Directors is a vehicle through which talented and experienced individuals, are able to add value by helping make key decisions and ensure that sound governance is implemented.  Nonprofits are defined by their customs, traditions, and practices and diversity on a nonprofit board is essential and helps embrace a more inclusive environment.  “The most effective boards are those that are able to bring together a diverse group of people that bring a range of thought and perspective,” said Eckhart-Queenan

Work:
The commitment of a Board Member is key to the success of the annual CFSC Conference, and therefore you must be willing to dedicate time and energy to the role.  An elected Board Member is often on several committee's and needs to be able to work as part of a team.

Charity/Fundraising:
We need Board members who have influence within their own community and among the membership, people who can open doors, attract others to the cause, and serve as ambassadors.  We need Board Members who are willing to stretch the limit and make the organization the focus of their philanthropy.
