Hello everyone!! Thank you for entrusting me with the honor of serving as the 2023-24 CFSC Board President. I would like to thank the amazing people who are also serving with me on the board this year. They are the backbone of CFSC and without them, we wouldn’t have a conference. There is a tremendous amount time involved in planning the conference and their dedication is beyond appreciated! ❤️
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am for this year’s conference! Conference will be held in historic Black Hawk, Colorado, one of Colorado’s famous Gold Rush mining towns. Black Hawk is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and has many hiking trails, making it a spectacular location for this year’s conference. Oh! And did I mention that this is CFSC’s 50th Anniversary? I can’t think of a better location to celebrate our Golden Anniversary than a historic town famous for gold!
Over the past 50-years, Colorado’s child support program has continued to grow and transform in order to better assist our increasingly diverse population. Colorado continues to lead the way and our child support program is a gold beacon for other states to follow.
In order for our program to maintain growth, to lead the way for others, to transform lives…it is important for us to reflect upon our past - to learn from our short-comings – to celebrate the amazing victories of the past 50-years – and to prepare for the next 50 by embracing the pledge to KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

Keep Moving Forward
In order to make a difference…in order to truly effect change…in order to remain a gold beacon - we must “Keep Moving Forward”! We must continue to learn, and share our knowledge with others, in order for our program to continuously grow and expand. We must “Keep Moving Forward” to help those who come to us for assistance…and to inspire and support those that we work with! As hard as change can be, continuing to embrace and implement change can be even harder. It’s easy to slip back into the old way of thinking or doing things. That’s why it’s so important to “Keep Moving Forward”.
One of the forward-thinking changes that you will see for the 2024 CFSC Conference is pre-registration for your conference sessions. That’s right! You will be able to read a short description for each of the sessions and then choose, at registration, which session you’d like to attend! Hopefully that will make your conference attendance easier to navigate from the start!
Also, plan to attend the President’s Reception Sunday evening. I welcome each and every conference attendee to stop by and meet the board, say “hi”, and enjoy some light refreshments. Maybe we’ll convince you to volunteer to be a member of the 2024-25 Board!!
No matter where you’re at in your journey…whether you’re new to the world of child support or whether you’ve been in the program for a while…there is always room for change and improvement. And, once you’ve taken that step towards self-improvement…the key to success is to “Keep Moving Forward”!! Continue your journey by attending the 2024 CFSC Conference in Black Hawk! Help us celebrate our 50th Golden Anniversary! You won’t regret it!
Sincerely,
JoAnna Finney, Otero County
2023-24 CFSC President
